What's the schedule for Bead&Button Show 2019?

Master and General Education Classes take place throughout the duration of the Bead&Button Show June 2 - June 9, 2019. See the Classes Tab for more information.

Special Events take place on Tues, June 4, Wed, June 5, and June 7. Preview Shopping for registered attendees is on Thurs, June 6 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. See the About the Show Tab for complete details on Special Events.

The Expo Preview Shopping is open on Thurs, June 6 for registered attendees and Wholesale Buyers. Public Shopping days in the Expo are Fri, June 7 - Sun, June 9. Entry into the Expo is $10. Students with a current student ID are free. Kids ages 12 and under are free. Admittance is limited to the room capacity at all times. See the Shopping Tab for more information.

Where is the Bead&Button Show held?

The Bead&Button Show takes place at the Wisconsin Center, Hyatt Regency Milwaukee, and the Hilton Milwaukee City Center. Master classes are held at the Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC). Registration and check-in for classes is at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee starting at 3:00 p.m. on Sat, June 1 through Tues, June 4 at 10:00 a.m. Registration then moves to the Wisconsin Center on Tues, June 4 and will open at 1:00 p.m. Registration will remain at the Wisconsin Center through Sun, June 9.

Who runs the Bead&Button Show?

The Bead&Button Show is produced by Kalmbach Media in Waukesha, WI. Kalmbach serves customers through a variety of media channels including books, events, magazines, television partnerships, and web sites. Kalmbach is made up of active enthusiasts, sharing passion for customers, products and services.

What is the difference between all the types of classes at the Bead&Button Show?

Here is your guide to the class types:

General and Evening Classes take place Sun, June 2 – Sun, June 9. The Show offers a large number of general classes taught by well-known instructors showcasing a huge variety of techniques, skill levels, and price points. Classes take place at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee, the Hilton Milwaukee Center and the Wisconsin Center. Visit the See All Classes Tab.


Master Classes take place from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. over the course of three days. These intensive, high-level classes are held at the Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC). See the Class tab for details.


What’s included in the Master Class price? 

  • Registration for the class, 
  • Full entry to the Bead&Button Expo, including Preview Shopping on Thursday, 
  • Transportation to and from the MATC each day, 
  • Breakfast and lunch on class days, 
  • Entry to all Special Events, 
  • Bead&Button 2019 Commemorative Bead, 
  • Show tote, 
  • 2019 T-shirt and; 
  • Early access to register for all the other Bead&Button classes.
How much does it cost to attend the Bead&Button Show?

Bead&Jewelry Expo entry is $10 at the door. Students with a current student ID are free.  Kids ages 12 and under are free. Cash only please.

Class registration requires a Registered Attendee badge.  The Registration fee is $35 and includes a Show Tote, and Show Pin can be done here.



How do I register?

It is fast and easy to register online. Visit the Bead&Button Show site and click SHOP, located in the upper right.You can review class offerings, sorting by Date, Time, Technique, Skill Level, Teacher, Price and Class Type. You can also search by keyword. Click Add to Cart by the class you want and it will go directly into your shopping cart. When finished, click on Shopping Cart icon to complete your purchases. The payment site is secure.

NOTE: You will need to add a Badge Registration to your Shopping Cart before completing your purchase.

Pick up your Badge and Schedule the day your classes or events begin at the Registration Desk at the Bead&Button Show. See SHOW SCHEDULE for dates, times and locations.

How can I view my class schedule / order history online?

View your up-to-date class schedule and/or order history in three easy steps.

1. Select SIGN IN, located in the upper right corner of the website.

2. Log into your account with your email address and password (personal password or Registration ID)

3. Select the ACCOUNT tab, located in the upper right corner of the website

Are wholesale discounts available at the Expo?

Wholesale designers and retailers are welcome at the Show. Purchase a registration badge online or onsite and select Wholesale Designer or Wholesale Retailer to receive a ribbon that can be added to your badge holder.  

Please note a wholesale designer or retailer ribbon does NOT guarantee wholesale discounts from exhibitors. Transactions are subject to the discretion, criteria and discount policies of the individual exhibitor. It is always a good idea to bring your Tax ID information to show to each exhibitor.

Will I receive a confirmation email for my registration?

Yes, you will receive an email confirmation when you purchase anything (i.e. classes, special events, souvenirs, and donations) on the Bead&Button Show web site.

What forms of payment do you accept online?
VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
Are there additional kit fees?
Kit fees are included in the price of the class. Bead&Button Show reimburses instructors for all kit fees.
Are there any other ways to register?

Onsite registration is available at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee from Sat, June 1 at 3:00 p.m. until Tues, June 4 at 10:00 a.m.  

Registration will re-open at the Wisconsin Center at 12:00 p.m. on Tues, June 4 and remain at the Wisconsin Center until Sun, June 9.  

What is the cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel a General Class for a refund, you must do so before Fri, March 22, 2019. You must cancel the class in writing by email to customerservice@beadandbuttonshow.com, or by mail to Bead&Button Show, 21027 Crossroads Circle, PO Box 1612, Waukesha, WI 53187. Submit the title of the class, date and time of the class, and the price of the class to be cancelled. There is a $20 processing fee assessed for each class cancelled.

If you wish to cancel one class and change to another class, there is a $20 processing fee assessed for each class cancelled. Submit the title of the class, date and time of the class, and the price of the class to be cancelled. Then, please go to www.beadandbuttonshow.com and register for your new class. We cannot guarantee placement into the new class. You will receive a confirmation of the cancellation and, as possible, a confirmation of acceptance into the new class.

If you need to cancel a Master Class, you must do so in writing before Fri, March 1, 2019. There is a $100 cancellation fee.



How do I add or cancel classes?
Please refer to the cancellation policy.
If a class is full, can I be put on a waitlist?
There are no waitlists but you can check the web site regularly to see if additional seats or another class session has been added.
Can children attend the Bead&Button Show?

Bead&Jewelry Expo - The expo is open to all ages. Kids 12 and under can enter for free.

Classes - You must be at least 12 years of age to register for most classes. Some classes have a higher age requirement. Refer to the class listing for details. 

How do I sign up to be a Bead&Button Show Exhibitor?

Information and questions on exhibiting or wait listing for future shows should be directed to Dina Johnston, Exhibitor Sales, or call 800-558-1544, ext. 523 for the most up-to-date booth availability.

How do I reserve a hotel room for the Bead&Button Show?

The Hyatt Regency Hotel Milwaukee and the Hilton Milwaukee Center each have available rooms for Bead&Button Show attendees. Visit the About the Show Tab and click on Travel Information to reserve your room.

How can I rent a scooter or wheelchair at the Show?

Show attendees can should arrange a scooter or wheelchair rental through On The Go Mobility (not affiliated with the Wisconsin Center) before arriving in Milwaukee.

Can I ship packages from the Show?

Both the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee and Hilton Milwaukee Center can help you arrange package shipments. At the Hyatt, go to the Business Center located in the first floor lobby area. At the Hilton, go to the lobby on the second floor and ask for Guest Services. If you are not a guest at the hotel, they will require a credit card to process your shipment.

What is the BeadDreams / International Metal Jewelry Artistry competition?
Each year, Bead&Button magazine sponsors BeadDreams, a juried competition of exceptional jewelry artistry from around the world. We display the finalist entries at the Bead&Jewelry Expo and award ribbons in four categories. Gift certificates are awarded to each of the top two winners in each category by the contest sponsors. Look for your voting ballot in the Expo Program Book. 

New this year, the Bead&Button Show is adding the International Metal Jewelry Artistry Awards. Finalist entries will be displayed at the Bead&Jewelry Expo and award ribbons in three categories. Award ribbon placement will take place on Friday, June 8.

What is the package check at the Show?

The package check and information area, hosted by the Loose Bead Society of Greater Milwaukee is located outside the Expo. Society members are happy to check your packages for a nominal fee during regular Show hours.  This saves from having to carry packages throughout the show or take them back to your car.

Who is the Loose Bead Society?
The Loose Bead Society of Greater Milwaukee is a fellowship of kindred spirits that began in 1999. Their purpose is sharing and promoting the creation of beautiful beadwork. They take pleasure in their art and in each other's company and invite you to join them and do the same.

What and where are the beading kiosks?

A beading kiosk is a place for you to pick up any items you might have forgotten - last minute beads, tools, class supplies, etc.  

The beading kiosks are located on the second floor atrium of the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee from Sat, June 1 through the morning of Wed June 5.
