Description:
Students will make a 3D mold from a delicate sample of cholla cactus or even a piece of bark if you prefer. Then add a little granulation the PMC way and crown it with a pearl. This pendant is a very unique textured piece. Additional session offered Friday, June 7 (B192336).
Students will Learn:
Learn how to make a two-part reusable 3D mold from a piece of organic matter; learn how to create stress-free granulation only possible with metal clay and prepare for a half drilled pearl. You will also prepare for a bail which is part of the piece without added components.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Magnifiers, needle tool, paintbrush (fine), task lamp, tweezers, X-acto knife, pink emery board.
Pliers:
Bentnose (prefer your pliers be a small long bentnose, email instructor for info).
Materials in Kit:
PMC, 18 or 20-in. silver chain, fine-silver wire, half-drilled pearls, stainless bowl, work surface, Teflon sheet, Lil Bella humidifier, patina materials, firing services, consumables and other items for class enhancement.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
