Additional Information
Create a unique necklace using copper sheeting. Students will learn many ways to create several shadowbox pendants. Patinas will enhance the surface and allow for unique results. Once several shadowboxes are made, students will create inserts for their boxes using torch-fired enamel surfaces. Fold-forming techniques will be used to create depth and interest with some of the inserts. Cold connections including wire rivets, eyelets, brads, ties, and weaving will be incorporated
Students will Learn:
Learn torch-fire enameling, fold-forming techniques and metal manipulation. Students will create shadowbox pendants in conjunction with their enamel pieces while also using cold connections, patinas, and a variety of design options.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Anvil pillow, ball-peen hammer, bench block, cutters, flush-cut wire cutters, hammer, paper, pen, safety glasses, tin snips, wire snips, writing materials.
Bentnose, long needlenose.
Materials in Kit:
Copper sheet, enamels, wires, patinas, fuel and torch use in class, embellishments, beads, findings.
One seat per person per class.
