Description:
Students will expand their wireworking skills as they build this beautiful and unique pendant. The focus of the class will be to learn three distinctive techniques for setting three different shaped stones within a wire wrap. Students will use several weaving, wrapping, and coiling techniques to frame the stones.
Students will Learn:
Students will focus on learning three distinctive methods for framing stones within a wire-woven pendant, and will spend time improving their wireworking skills.
Prerequisites:
Students need to have intermediate level wire-weaving skills.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Needle tool, wire straightener, ruler, permanent marker, painter’s masking tape, 13 x 8 mm cabochon or a flat stone of similar size, chunky stone (about 3/4-in. x 1/2-in. x 1/2-in.), 3/4-in. x 1/4-in. crystal pointed stone. Stones will also be available for purchase from the instructor. Recommended: Magnification, task light.
Pliers:
Chainnose, flatnose, roundnose.
Materials in Kit:
Step-by-step handout, fine-silver wire in six gauges, half-round sterling wire, use of instructor’s tools and consumables.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
