Additional Information
Reminiscent of the ancient technique and colorful appearance of enamelwork -- only these techniques are done with application techniques and variation of color on metal with a final coat of jeweler’s grade crystal clear, glass-like resin. Using bronze sheet metal and wire, learn a vast variety of unique surface and patina techniques and methods. Derive color in your work from resins, enamel paint, paper, and waxes.
Students will Learn:
How to apply color on metal; application of iced enamels; sealing with glass-like surface; how to pour and mix resin; construction of bracelet.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Accent beads, anvil, anvil pillow, awl, hammer, magnifiers, permanent marker (pointed), rubber stamps, scissors, small hammer, wire snips, writing materials, tin snips (or jeweler’s saw), metal files, ball peen hammer, center punch, small found objects, text, photos or any other objects that you would like to include in your work.
Chainnose, roundnose, standard roundnose, needlenose.
Materials in Kit:
Bronze sheet metal, wire, rivets, Ice Resin, paints, mica, colors used to create cold enameling.
One seat per person per class.
