Description:
Add color, shape, expression, and form to your jewelry by building a unique tassel component of fringe. Jewelry techniques include drilling a hollow form, drilling stone, and drawing a bead for attachment. Alter silk, stack stones, and burn sticks to create a personal piece. Construct and build a leather necklace and closure using end caps to house your tassels.
Students will Learn:
How to build beautiful jewelry with tassels. Techniques include drawing a bead next to fragile material, how to use leather in your work and use steel end caps to finish leather work.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
18-gauge wire, anvil, anvil pillow, magnifiers, safety glasses, scissors, small hammer, wire snips, small bench block and pillow.
Pliers:
Chainnose, standard roundnose, needlenose.
Materials in Kit:
Steel or brass end caps, leather, stones, sticks, resin flower bud, fiber, jump rings, bronze wire.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
