Description:
Come explore the ancient art of sterling silver fusing. You’ll create a pendant that evokes vintage patchwork with a hint of modern sparkle and shine. Gwen will walk you through the process of fusing sterling silver to create the base piece. Next up, those amazing silver balls, a prong setting, and bail -- all soldered into place. Finally, a quick and easy hand finishing technique that will add sparkle and shine to this fun, funky, and organic piece. Bonus: Students can make a pair of earrings with the leftovers.
Students will Learn:
Students will focus on the ancient technique of fine silver fusing as well as soldering. Students will leave class with a firm foundation in these techniques, ready to apply them to new projects.

Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Instructor provides all tools for in class use. Students are encouraged to bring eye magnification and a portable light.
Materials in Kit:
16-, 26-gauge sterling silver; solder; fine-silver wire; prong setting; CZ; leather cord.
