Description:
Take riveting to the next level and create a unique riveted chain necklace. Join artist Gwen Youngblood as she explores a variety of links: how to shape them, how to rivet them, how to texture them, and options for embellishment (yes, we’ll learn to make those magical ball-headed rivets). The patented Riveting Essentials process makes the riveting all but foolproof. From simple and elegant to whimsical steampunk -- the sky is the limit!
Students will Learn:
This is a full day exploration of riveting in a unique application. Students will leave class with a firm foundation in riveting and confident to tackle out-of-the-ordinary riveting applications. In addition, students will learn some simple texturing and wireworking skills to up their game.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Instructor provides all tools for use in class. Students are encouraged to bring eye magnification and a portable light.
Materials in Kit:
14-, 16-, 18-gauge round copper wire; 14-, 16-, 18-gauge round fine-silver wire; 20-gauge silver-plated wire; 26-gauge sterling silver sheet; bezel cup; cabochon; Swarovski marguerite; miscellaneous daisy spacers; jump rings; leather cord.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
