Description:
This beautiful sterling silver and labradorite cuff is not only a chance to gift yourself with flowers to wear year-round, it’s also an opportunity to plant more advanced metalsmithing techniques in your creative garden. You’ll build dimensional elements from scratch, learn how to combine them cleanly, create a custom setting for a stunning, flashy labradorite cabochon, and form and size a cuff for comfort and ease of wear.
Students will Learn:
How to build dimensional elements, form and solder wire components to sheet (cleanly), create custom bezels, and form comfortable cuffs using simple tools. You’ll also learn best practices for clean, secure stone setting on a dimensional element, and how to add a rustic patina.
Prerequisites:
Prior experience with soldering and the jeweler’s saw.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Magnification, battery operated task lamp.
Materials in Kit:
Sterling silver sheet, sterling silver wire, fine silver bezel wire, labradorite cabochon, use of all tools and equipment, consumables
