Description:
Design a solid deconstructed cuff using a variety of silversmithing techniques. Students will learn how to mask with patinas to create vivid colors and textures among other hammering techniques. The cuff will be finished off with a beautiful cabochon setting. Students should bring their own gemstone and have soldering experience.
Students will Learn:
Learn how to design and construct a complex bracelet using soldering, polishing, and filing techniques. Masking and layering patina techniques will be covered as well as setting a cabochon gemstone.
Prerequisites:
Previous soldering experience.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Apron, cabochon gemstone, magnification if needed.
Materials in Kit:
Sterling silver rectangle wire, sheet, round wire; step-by-step photo tutorial; use of all instructor’s tools and materials in class.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
