Additional Information
Join Maria in creating a pair of finger-woven earrings using a method adapted from a knot used for hammock-making. These earrings can be embellished with a wide variety of stones, pearls or glass beads to make them truly unique.
Students will Learn:
How to anneal wire, paddle wire ends, finger-weave, and fuse the ends of the wire to finish the weave. Students will also make their own earring wires and properly finish the earrings to a gleam.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Awl, bench block, chasing hammer, flush-cut wire cutters, metal files, permanent marker (pointed), reading glasses.
Chainnose, nylon-jaw wire straightener, roundnose.
Materials in Kit:
16-, 20-, 22-gauge copper wire; choice of pearls, stone or glass beads; use of butane, pickle, patina, polishing pads.
One seat per person per class.
