Additional Information
Use copper, silver, and a variety of tins to create one-of-a-kind necklaces, brooches, and earrings. Students will design, connect, and tie using rivets, eyelets, brads, weaving, and bezels. Students will also learn to use colored and antique tins in a variety of ways to make great surfaces for use in jewelry. A variety of patinas and alternative surfaces will be explored. This is a fun, fast-paced class, packed full of unique and easy techniques for one-of-a-kind results.
Students will Learn:
Learn how to use a variety of patinas and applications for copper; how to prepare antique and colored tins for use as layers in this approach to dimensional jewelry. Rivets, brads, and eyelets; and woven and tying techniques will all be covered allowing students many options for designing and creating one-of-a-kind work.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Ball-peen hammer, bench block, cutters, diagonal wire cutters, pen, scissors, wire snips, writing materials.
Bentnose, flush side-cutting, long needlenose.
Materials in Kit:
Copper sheeting, colored tins, antique tins, all cold connections, patinas, wire, embellishments, beads, findings.
One seat per person per class.
