Additional Information
Using copper sheeting, students will make a shadow box frame in which they will create one-of-a-kind enameled work. Once the frame is created, students will make a torch-fired enameled piece to fit in the bezeled box. Students will learn how to torch-fire enamel, embed items, add glass, create shadows, over-torching, and a variety of other techniques. Students will make several pieces. Learn fun and fast-paced techniques to create one-of-a-kind creative results.
Students will Learn:
Learn to make shadow boxes using a variety of connections; how to make many torch-enameled pieces using a variety of techniques. Many options, fun ideas, and easy techniques will be taught.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Ball-peen hammer, diagonal wire cutters, paper, pen, safety glasses, wire snips, writing materials.
Bentnose, flush side-cutting, long needlenose.
Materials in Kit:
Copper sheeting, enamels, dust mask, wires, findings, use of torch and supplies in class.
One seat per person per class.
