Description:
Learn how to make a beautiful flourished clasp to pair with your handmade jewelry. Students will learn the modified Soumak and how to make it tight, and also explore how you can change the clasp to add your own personal touches. This is a great introduction class to learning how to wire weave.
Students will Learn:
Modified Soumak weave, hammering, simple torch work.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Anvil pillow, awl, bench block, chasing hammer, cutters, magnifiers, metal files, Optivisors, permanent marker (pointed), ruler, task lamp.
Pliers:
Chainnose, flatnose standard, roundnose.
Materials in Kit:
14-, 18-, 28-gauge fine-silver wire; sterling silver metal beads; dowel; bobbin.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
