Additional Information
Description:
Students will make several photopolymer plates of their own designs, or use instructors’ designs, to create very detailed and personal plates to make duplicate pieces. Additionally, students will create a small jewelry piece (charms or earrings) in silver metal clay using plates of their choice.
Students will Learn:
Using homework provided ahead of time by the instructors, students will create their own personal designs and learn how to transfer those designs to photopolymer plates. Students will then focus on using some of those plates, and learn basic silver clay skills to create one or more pieces of jewelry.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 12 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Craft knife, scissors, Scotch tape, writing materials. Optional: Personal metal clay tools if you have them, otherwise instructor will provide to share in class.
Materials in Kit:
Selection of photopolymer plates; silver metal clay; use of instructors' extensive collection of designs, tools, firing and finishing services, consumables. Instructions will be sent to students before class starts so homework can be completed.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
