Additional Information
Basic metalworking techniques will be used to prepare niobium sheet for anodizing. Several different resist techniques will be used to enhance the magical experience of anodizing. Bath anodizing will be used after cutting shapes, filing, and sanding to prepare pieces for anodizing. Cold connections will be introduced.
Students will Learn:
Basic metalworking techniques will be used to prepare niobium pieces for anodizing. Rubber cement, anodizer’s tape, cut vinyl masks, and Press-n-Peel blue paper will be used as resists in the anodizing process.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
6-in. ruler, fine-tip marker, flush-cut wire cutters, scissors, task lamp.
Materials in Kit:
24-gauge unanodized niobium sheet, rubber cement, Press-n-Peel blue paper, anodizer's tape, Mighty Mask sheets, unanodized niobium wire.
One seat per person per class.
