Additional Information
Not your garden variety bead embroidery, that’s for sure. Learn to create truly unique three-dimensional components to enhance your focal, in this case the lovely dancing Mandragora root baby. Include textiles in your beadwork, use negative space, and add movement to your work. Branch out, so to speak! Welcome to the garden of beads.
Students will Learn:
Learn how to enhance your bead embroidery by adding 3-D components; use fine fabrics and a less-is-more approach to bead embroidery.
Experience with peyote bezels and some bead embroidery background.
Project completion:
Project will not be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
#11 beading needles (Tulip recommended), beading thread (Nanofil 8 lb. test in low visibility green or Fireline 6 lb. test smoke), E6000 adhesive, scissors, tape measure, thread conditioner, work surface, white gel pen, E6000 adhesive (large tube or 2 small tubes), good-quality sharp and pointy scissors, light and magnification as needed, beading surface.
Materials in Kit:
Mandragora root baby focal, foundation, Dupioni silk, bronze closure, seed beads, shaped beads, template.
