Description:
Create a funky, steampunk-style pendant with some easy-to-find hardware, two different kinds of zippers, and a beautiful artisan-made lampworked bead. You’ll be amazed at how easy these pendants work up. Once your pendant is done, you can make a pair of coordinating earrings as well.
Students will Learn:
Basic wire-wrapping skills; spiral-making and hammering techniques; as well as how to work with some non-traditional materials.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 12 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Beading mat, bench block, chasing hammer, permanent marker (pointed).
Pliers:
Chainnose, nylon-jaw wire straightener, roundnose.
Materials in Kit:
16-, 18-, 26-gauge copper wire; 2 kinds of zippers; retaining rings; artisan-made lampworked bead; assorted Czech glass beads; use of patina, 600 grit sandpaper, polishing pad.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
