Description:
A unique project of Hiroe’s original technique in which ribbon embroidery, bead embroidery, and beading stitches are combined on her hand-dyed foundation of several lace motifs. Using a fabric foundation contributes to making the piece lighter despite its sculptural look.
Students will Learn:
Learn Hiroe’s original technique of connecting lace motifs to make your own foundation. Students will also learn basic stitches of ribbon embroidery and bead embroidery with embroidery threads; how to create lightweight sculptural beadwork; how to make some variations of this project.
Project completion:
Project will not be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
#11 beading needles, #12-13 beading needles, beading mat, Fireline 6 lb. test, ruler, scissors, task lamp.
Materials in Kit:
Swarovski crystal beads, hand-dyed-lace motifs, Japanese sewing needle, embroidery threads, ribbon embroidery needle, ribbon for embroidery, 11/0 Toho seed beads, pair of silver 925 pierced earring wires.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
