Additional Information
The Leno Braid is an adaptation from the gauze weave, where a structure is worked with open cells. This structure is a kumihimo braid that uses leno techniques to create the open structure. In this braid, you’ll use a flexible fiber along with some lovely aged picasso beads to create a lively, fun cuff-type bracelet. In the weeks before the class, students will have the opportunity to work with the instructor online to select colorways and a pattern for the class.
Students will Learn:
Students will learn the Leno braid variation of the traditional kumihimo Anda-gumi braid, to create an open structured cuff, and how to incorporate beads into the design.
Project completion:
Project will not be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Magnifiers, scissors, tape measure, task lamp.
Materials in Kit:
Square kumihimo braiding plate, selection of fiber for braiding, picasso 1/0 beads, magnetic clasp.
One seat per person per class.
