Description:
Wondering how to use some of the newer beads in a project? This necklace uses many of them, as well as some of the old standbys. The pendant is layered and three-dimensional, combining both bead embroidery and bead weaving. The Duet SuperDuo beads create an interesting design in the main pendant, the neck chain, and the leaf dangling below.
Students will Learn:
Learn how to bezel a rivoli with bead embroidery; techniques for creating a dimensional flower by combining weaving and embroidery; several bead weaving stitches as well as embellishing and edging bead embroidery. The neck chain is a variation of herringbone using SuperDuo beads, seed beads, and crystals.
Project completion:
Project will not be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
#11 beading needles, E6000 adhesive, Fireline 6 lb. test, scissors.
Materials in Kit:
Chexx beads; 3-4 mm bicone crystals, DuetDuo beads, 2 mm round druk beads; 3 mm glass pearls; 11/0, 15/0 seed beads; 3 mm fire-polished beads; Arco beads; 14 mm rivoli; beading foundation; Ultrasuede backing; SuperDuo beads; illustrated color instructions.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
