Additional Information
This all day class will be an in-depth exploration of advanced marble design with plenty of time to practice and to get some feedback from the instructor to help tune up your skills. Students will work on a variety of designs, including: air-trap, double axis, vortex, double helix designs, and yikes -- stripes! If you have some skills in making marbles, or you have taken Frank’s intro class -- come join him to do some serious marble making. Class involves the use of a torch with open flame and gases. Wear safety (didymium) glasses, cotton clothing, and closed-toe shoes. Tie long hair back.
Students will Learn:
Learn how to conceptualize and execute various marble designs. The instructor will also discuss marble sizes and other variations that will enable the student to return to their studio and do some serious marble making.
Some marble making experience.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Marble mold, didymium glasses, favorite lampworking tools, metal soup can.
Materials in Kit:
Stainless steel punties, glass rods, Double Helix glass.
One seat per person per class.
