Description:
Create an ornate bead embroidered pendant featuring a natural beetle wing and a Swarovski crystal Scarab that dangles from a herringbone centerpiece crafted with Demi beads. Embellished right-angle weave adorns each end. Two styles of woven beads, bedecked with crystals will be shown (one with a variant), and all will be strung into a necklace and finished with a sturdy, yet beautiful Swarovski crystal box clasp.
Students will Learn:
Focus on seamlessly fusing embellished right-angle weave and herringbone, as both beads and a centerpiece, to showcase a bead embroidered pendant. How to prep natural beetle wings for the cabochon and embellished right-angle weave beads will also be covered.
Prerequisites:
Previous experience with peyote stitch, herringbone stitch, right-angle weave, brick stitch edging, and basic stringing.
Project completion:
Project will not be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
#11-12 beading needles, beading mat, Fireline 6 lb. test, reading glasses, scissors, task lamp.
Materials in Kit:
3mm, 4mm, 6mm Swarovski bicones; Swarovski Scarab beads; Demi beads or Miyuki spacers; 11/0, 15/0 seed beads; 11/0 cylinder beads; natural beetle wing cabochon; Ultrasuede; Lacy's Stiff Stuff; silver-filled box clasp; sterling silver crimp beads, crimp covers, round beads; Soft Flex beading wire.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
