Description:
Create a unique colorway in polymer clay to inlay into the new wooden components by Banyan Bay Studios, as well as making fun accent beads. The unique, color-enhanced wood cylinders are then wire wrapped and combined with polymer clay accent beads to create a focal pendant. A simple but fetching forged chain finishes the necklace giving you a sophisticated boho-style necklace.
Students will Learn:
Color mixing, inlaying clay, and securely attaching and curing the clay; basic wireworking skills, including turned loops, wire-wrapped loops, and working with jump rings, along with creating a simple forged chain and clasp.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Bench block, chasing hammer, Optivisors, pasta machine, rawhide hammer, roller/brayer, task lamp, tissue-slicing blade, work surface.
Pliers:
Chainnose without grooves, flatnose without grooves, flush side-cutting, nylon-jaw wire straightener, roundnose.
Materials in Kit:
Assorted colored polymer clay blocks; 7 graduated wooden tube beads; 16-, 18-gauge half-hard sterling silver wire; jump rings; instructions.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
