Description:
Three pair of earrings will be completed in three hours. Create a colorway in polymer clay to inlay and enhance the new wooden components by Banyan Bay Studios (wooden components will be available in multiple colors). The unique, color-enhanced wood cylinders are then used with three different earring wire designs to create boho-style earrings for your collection. Knowing how to create earring wires is a valuable skill that allows your own voice to shine through in your own designs.
Students will Learn:
Color mixing, working with polymer clay, inlaying clay, securely attaching and curing the clay; basic wireworking skills will be covered so that you can create three different ear wire designs for a variety of components.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Bench block, chasing hammer, Optivisors, pasta machine, rawhide hammer, roller/brayer, task lamp, tissue-slicing blade, work surface.
Pliers:
Chainnose without grooves, flatnose without grooves, flush side-cutting, nylon-jaw wire straightener, roundnose.
Materials in Kit:
Assorted colored polymer clay blocks, 3 pair of wooden tube beads, 20-gauge half-hard sterling silver wire, sanding sponges, instructions.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
