Description:
Learn an innovative way to imitate bead embroidery with peyote and netting. This project is a combination of basic embroidery stitches and bead weaving. Students will create a beautiful crystal and pearl component that will serve as the focal of the cuff, then apply Shibori ribbon in a unique way. There will be a series of bracelets to choose from.
Students will Learn:
How to do basic embroidery stitches and a faux embroidery process using peyote, netting, etc.; learn a designer developed crystal stitching technique to create the focal.
Prerequisites:
Students should be comfortable working with small seed beads and knowledgeable of basic bead-weaving stitches including peyote, netting, etc.
Project completion:
Project will not be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
#12 beading needles, awl, beading wax, Fireline 8 lb. test, scissors, task lamp, work surface.
Materials in Kit:
Swarovski bicones, pearls; 8/0, 11/0, 15/0 Japanese seed beads; Shibori ribbon; metallic leather; Ultrasuede; embroidery medium; rivolis; brass bracelet blank; rhinestone cup chain.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
