Description:
Expand your wire skills as you discover the art of making wire-woven rings. The class will focus on understanding the basic construction and design, and will explore techniques for proper ring sizing. Ideas for customizing the design will be discussed.
Students will Learn:
How to work with two and four frame wires to learn different weave patterns. The focus will be on creating consistent, uniform weaves.
Prerequisites:
Must have basic skills in wire weaving.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Flush wire cutters, needle tool, blue painter’s masking tape, ruler, permanent marker, work mat. Recommended: task light, magnification.
Pliers:
Chainnose, flatnose, nylon jaw (or wire straightener).
Materials in Kit:
Fine-silver wire in two gauges, choice of a 10 mm stone or crystal bead, illustrated color handout.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
