Description:
Learn how to use jump rings as a decorative part of the stitching rather than as a merely functional finding in these earrings. Finish the earrings with a beautiful pearl drop or whimsical charm.
Students will Learn:
How to incorporate jump rings into bead stitching as an integral part rather than just as a ring to attach a clasp. Herringbone stitch creates the bezel for the central pearl and also provides the stitching point for the two layers of these earrings.
Prerequisites:
Experience opening and closing jump rings.
Project completion:
Project will not be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
#12-13 beading needles, 18-in. beading pad (without nap), beading mat, Fireline 8 lb. test beading thread, ruler, scissors, sticky notes, tape measure, task lamp, work surface. Students must have two pairs of pliers.
Pliers:
Bentnose, small flatnose, standard flatnose.
Materials in Kit:
18-gauge 5 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm jump rings; SuperDuo or Twin beads; 8 mm round glass pearls; 11/0, 15/0 seed beads; earring wires; charms or pearl drops.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
