This organic piece will get many looks. Students will learn whittling, molding, forming, granulation, and patina techniques to create this one-of-a-kind piece. Bring a 20 or 22-in. silver chain you can patina so you can wear your piece out of class. The chain in the photo is a popcorn chain.
Students will Learn:
Organic material preparation, mold making, forming, granualation the metal clay way, patina and polishing.
Good hand/eye coordination, ability to work very small.
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Craft knife, fine-tip marker, magnifiers, metal clay roller, metal clay tools, needle tool, Optivisors, paintbrush (fine), task lamp, tissue-slicing blade, rubber shaper, emery board, 20 or 22-in. silver chain or leather cord, small piece of bark or cactus (approx. 1 x 3-in.) or can use instructor’s.
Bentnose (should be fine and long).
Materials in Kit:
PMC, fine-silver wire, silicone mold material, work surface, Teflon sheet, stainless bowl, patina materials, consumables and other items to enhance class experience, firing services.
One seat per person per class.
