Smocking typically refers to an embroidery technique used to gather fabric. However a variation of this technique can be used with corrugated sheet metal to create some interesting textural elements.
Students will Learn:
How to create a cool corrugated cuff while experimenting with metalsmithing techniques that include corrugating, smocking, and cold connecting.
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Metal shears, flush cutters, chasing hammer, steel bench block, oval steel bracelet mandrel.
Materials in Kit:
Copper sheet, rivets.
One seat per person per class.
