Say good-bye to store bought findings and start making your own one-of-a-kind toggle clasps, end caps, and bead cones for your hand-crafted jewelry designs. Make a themed clasp to match a specific piece of work, or build a collection of findings to have available when the need arises.
Students will Learn:
In this hands-on class, learn the basics of constructing toggle clasps, forming end caps, and shaping bead cones. In addition to reviewing the basics of working with metal clay, demonstrations and instruction will cover toggle clasp guidelines and attachment, types of armatures for rolled bead cone shapes and sizes, and how to construct end caps using multiple components.
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 18 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Craft knife, metal clay roller, metal clay tools, needle tool, paintbrush (flat), paintbrush (pointed), paper, pen, tissue-slicing blade, tweezers, thickness guides (graduated slats, playing cards, etc.), mini spatula or palette knife, clay shaper, work surface, snake roller, burnisher.
Materials in Kit:
Silver metal clay, shared Silver Clay paste and/or syringe. Firing and finishing supplies and materials, tool and equipment use, use of texture plates and clay cutters, miscellaneous class supplies and consumables.
One seat per person per class.
