Nancy’s beading has undergone an evolution over the years. When designing a new piece, she is drawn toward changing the process of beading. Developing a new approach or technique is a challenge she savors. Once Nancy finds a new approach, she allows the technique to dictate the direction of the design. Much like a building with the beautiful façade gracing the infrastructure, she is endlessly fascinated by the structural work of a piece.
When teaching a class, she delves into the process of creating the piece so students can learn the "behind the scenes" methodology of designing.
Nancy has played with beads since 1989. She began by stringing and then developed her passion for off loom weaving around 1990. She began teaching on the national and international circuit in 2003. Her work has been displayed in numerous museums in Japan including the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art. She was named Designer of the Year 2010 for Beadwork
magazine, was the Bead&Button Show Master Class instructor in 2015 and is a two time BeadDreams finalist. Both she and her artistry are featured in many books and publications. She invites you to visit her website.
