Olga Vinnere Pettersson

Olga Vinnere Pettersson Olga was borne in Latvia, former USSR and currently reside in Sweden. Her Russian grandmother taught me traditional needlework and embroidery already when she was 5 years old. She has not stopped doing crafts since then. Olga started beading in 2008, while pregnant with her second child. The passion has very rapidly escalated from stringing simple necklaces to writing patterns and creating large and complex beadwoven pieces. Beading is her passion and therapy. She loves combining different techniques and materials - beads, stones, metals, leather and textiles. Very often it happens that the materials themselves inspire her to create something new and unusual. Otherwise, lots of her inspiration come from nature and folklore. Owner of MadeByOlga small-scale jewellery design and teaching business. Teaching basic and advanced beadweaving since 2009: privately, at bead shops and beading conventions in Sweden. Owner of Participation in International Bead shows: Bead Days in Prague, Czech Republic, 2010 Perlen Poesie - organized Beaders Best Bead Art Fair in Hamburg 2011 - 2015, as an exhibitor and 2013 as a teacher. Master Beads in Creative Fair in Bergamo, Italy, years 2016 and 2017 as an invited teacher and exhibitor. Participation in beading contests: Winner of Fashion Colorworks 2010 Beading competition Finalist of Fashion Colorworks 2011 Beading competition Battle of Beadsmith 2013 and 2014 Winner and a finalist of a number of Swedish national beading competitions. Olga has one publication in Perlen Poesie and a feature on BeadSmith commercial at Bead and Button magazine. Published a series of articles in web-based MyLoveyBeads resource curated by Zoya Gutina. Former member of Easy Beadweavers team on Etsy. Years 2010 - 2011: Membership Moderator of Easy Beadweavers. However, beading is not her main profession. Olga a scientist with PhD degree in Biology and have a more than 15 years of experience of university teaching. Currently, she works as a Project coordinator at the National Genomics Infrastructure-Sweden.
