Susan Lenart Kazmer

Susan Lenart Kazmer Susan’s work is real. It is energetic, sometimes figurative and always about real life. As a silversmith and artist of 20 years, she creates pieces that reference history and contemporary urban life. Her work tells stories through the use of silver, metal, glass, resin, wood and other mixed-media materials.

Her work is drawn from a unique combination of art school, metalsmithing, extensive cultural research, creating and repairing ethnographic adornment, and a strong fashion background. She has built Talismans, prayer boxes, and amulets for the fashion, museum, gallery and commercial world. Her early collection began at Henry Bendell, Banana Republic, Nordstrom, Ann Taylor and more, where she began a commercial line of jewelry. Susan also builds large sculptural pieces that have appeared in museum exhibits including the Smithsonian and Art Institute of New York.

Her second book, “Resin Alchemy,” an Amazon 2013 best seller, includes a pioneering 10-year body of work. Her new work can be seen in March 2014 issue of U.S. Elle and Michaels, where her successful component line of jewelry called Industrial CHIC is sold exclusively.
