PREVIEW THIS YEAR'S CLASS SELECTION
Two tubular right-angle weave ropes intertwine and embrace each other in color and texture in this beautifully draped necklace. This is different from flat right-angle weave because this stitch constantly works in one direction. The flexibility of this beadwork makes perfectly draped jewelry, suitable for around the neck, ankle, or wrist. |
Anyone who desires ultimate sparkle can find it in this crystal, crisscrossing bracelet. It is woven with two-needle, crisscrossing techniques and simple one-needle right-angle weave-like embellishing. Jam-packed with crystals, pearls, and seed beads, students will definitely be dazzle-licious when wearing it! The instructions contain step-by-step full-color directions that help make the learning process much smoother. Prerequisite: Students must have some experience bead weaving with needle and thread. |
This class is designed for the bead maker who is comfortable with handling large amounts of glass in irregular pendant shapes. In the morning, students will make several pendants designed to be filled with resin collages. The beads anneal during lunch, and then while they are cooling, we will choose our collage materials from those provided by the instructors (or brought from home guided by a materials list provided in advance). The annealed beads will be filled with each artist’s chosen elements and a nontoxic resin. The pieces will be cured with UV light. Even longtime bead makers will be thrilled and excited by this easy technique, which has a very tiny learning curve and enables the artist to incorporate a new aspect of jewelry into beads. Class involves the use of a torch with open flame and gases. Wear safety (didymium) glasses, cotton clothing, and closed-toe shoes. Tie long hair back. |
