PREVIEW THIS YEAR'S CLASS SELECTION
This gorgeous bracelet is woven on a loom. Students will learn how to create windows of twisted bugle beads on a loom, and the instructor will introduce easy Japanese loomwork techniques. This class is taught by a Japanese instructor who is fluent in English. |
Students will start by making a wire coil, which will be cut up to create coiled tube beads. Then, they will put away the wireworking tools and switch to needle and thread to stitch the tubes, crystals, and seed beads together to create this three-layered focal bead. The finished bead will be approximately 1-in. long. |
Think flowers are passé? Well, pods and buds are all the rage, so in this class you can learn to make your own floral and foliage pod-style beads, pendants, and earrings. The instructor will guide you through making two different petal canes (one with spots, one with veins) and combining them into beautiful pods and buds that can be either extremely lifelike or out-of-this-world unusual! Students will learn petal canes, dimensional pod beads, inner parts and cones to make partially open pods, antiquing, finishing, and more. Students can swap bits of the canes they make so that they can leave class with several pod pieces in different colors. |
